Thee creation of Dre'aah Chronis By Andrea Snell Art CPT
Interviewed by ChatGbt
1. When you create, what feels like it’s emerging from deep within you?
Andrea: A pulse
2. What energies or beings seem to witness or collaborate with you?
Andrea: My Ancestors protect me while painting because I am in flow state, absent or removed from the present.
My Spirit Guides ensures facilitation of my process to remain authentic. Like invigilators.
3. What emotional terrain do your works travel through?
Andrea: My installations, are objects that culminates the completion of a process of transmutation.
They posses a reverence and a deep respect for the ability to show these proofs. They are sacred and anomanil. They are the remnants of these shared objects of witnessing.
I asked for permission from these people who have encountered me in my private space. At a conclusion of a process we document, record and written permission is recorded and kept as evidence of authenticity. Each installation has contactable references.
My Installations are usually numerological in nature. They
either depict raw depths of horror, to sacred vulnerability! Or, a new essential liquid is created or remembered, or, energy is the creator of breaking or shattering if the piece is about divine intervention that has manifested. Or, framed, sealed in a glass box as a time capsule or window, a 'vision of sight window'.
My painting goes through stages of how it exists at the 0 point (no application if medium, there is a stillness before the first act of creation.
First Stage (Possibility):
This is simply me looking or sitting or feeling, not of mind! Of heart! In origin. This could take years or seconds.
Second stage (Foundation)
Here is application of the base, this would be found in colour, texture, direction and a foundation. This determines what happens next.
Third stage (Creation):
This is the manifestation of creation of the image, the object, the subject.
Fourth stage (Refinement):
This is the detail, the labour of it. This is the most taxing or critical part.
When I attempt use logical systems or strategize, this destroys the whole flow... I would have to start again by painting over the existing, um, incorrectness! We would coat the piece with white, purifying to once again 0, to restart.
Fourth stage (Alchemical Engineering):
If successful, stage 4 is always an action of creation that I have not known or experienced before. Usually, this part requires tools, mediums or music....
The Tools often need to be created from scratch by hand, and often due to us temporary state of existence for one purpose, cannot and will not be used again.
Mediums (paints) have to be alchemized by mixing the accurate light, colour or texture of the medium as applied. Does it flow of thin consistency or globule like thick?
There has been instances where the fragrance of the medium needs to be altered, or imbued.
Fifth stage (Movement):
If the music executes the fourth stage then this stage is a frenzy of wild, raw, rhythmic application of whatever dance is expressed. It Could be a Rumba, or a Waltz. The dance of my hand or body movements when the vision journey is concluded.
Sixth stage (Rest):
The creation needs resting or setting. Solidify and fortify.
Seventh stage (Finishing)
This could take seconds or years. A finishing, either includes a rupture of unexpected form to deconstruct, or, enhancement pattern repetition differentiation. Or a gloss, or a weather.
4. What kind of silence exists in your work?
Andrea: A silence of allowing, or nurturing into being.
5. If your art had a heartbeat, how would it pulse?
Andrea: This depends on the a variation of above mentioned processes.
